APGO LMS and CMS Integration

The Association of Professors of Gynecology and Obstetrics (APGO) represents OBGYN academia in the United States and Canada.

They were moving from having no AMS (association management system) to Fonteva built on the Salesforce AMS platform.
They wanted to streamline their members information, views and other member management items.

Challenges

Having no previous AMS meant that managing members was difficult and time consuming for the APGO staff.

Specific requirements for the AMS included:

  • Wanting to ensure they were able to add / tag content as members-only content within the website as easily as possible
  • Wanting to be able to create content within the CMS, not the AMS, while still keeping it members-only content

Solution

AmDee leveraged SAML (security assertion markup language) specifications using Salesforce to authenticate an entity and to authenticate the members and the membership level.

  • We provided a way to tag any content on the CMS as members only.
  • The client also has the ability, within the hierarchy of membership, and based on membership type/level to restrict content access.

    • The members’ areas are noted on the website through text distinctions.
